Styling a Dresser
August 13, 2015
I recently moved into a tiny apartment and needed to maximize every square inch as possible. Knowing that this new pad was going to be temporary, I needed affordable furniture that would do double duty and so I went straight to IKEA and picked up this white MALM dresser….. ok, well actually……. I had them deliver and assemble it! 🙂 I love it’s clean, minimal lines and loads of storage but most of all, the top of this dresser was the perfect spot for my jewelry and daily accessories. I’m not a fan of displaying my jewelry out in the open because it tends to look like a cluttered mess so I picked up these beautiful boxes from HomeGoods to keep my pretties all safe and secure! I especially love this orange box which reminds me of Hermes…. Ooh la la! These gorgeous glass boxes and black tray are also from HomeGoods and don’t they all look sleek and chic together?
When styling a dresser, I usually think of color and composition. In this case, my dresser is stark white and I love the contrast of black against it, so I used many black pieces along with small pops of bright orange and gold. And lastly, I added a big bouquet of beautiful white hydrangeas to bring freshness to this tiny vignette.
